All things for the glory of God
I can no longer be or remain silent — I have seen the hand of God in my life — especially this past year since March 2023!
In addition to the greatest gift ever (to all of us), that is, the sacrifice of His only Son and His resurrection from the dead so that we/I could have this wonderful relationship with Him for eternity, a prolonged health event became one of those infamous ‘gifts in disguise’. It is both humbling and awe-inspiring to grasp that the gift of life is in His hands, on a breath-by-breath basis, that He breathed Life into the whole creation, even into you and I, believer or non-believer! It is by His grace and choice/goodwill that we live. Today, I’m still here!!
Which often leaves us wondering – why? (Well, some of you may wonder why me<G>, right?? ) CH Spurgeon wrote “Our Lord is determined that we should feel and recognize this hourly dependence upon Him, for He only permits us to pray for daily bread (Matt6:11), and only promises that as our days, so will our strength be (Deut 33:25 KJV)” [Morning by Morning, July 17]
So gratefully, what was inside my ‘gift in disguise’, despite the bitter wrapping, was absorbing this lesson of “hourly dependence” – every breath dependence, every heartbeat dependence… Accepting dependence results in TRUST! The tangible kind — where you then extend that trust to reliance on His promises, which feeds FAITH (active belief).
Now we’re back to I can no longer remain silent! This ‘lesson’ became the starting block for what has become my daily pursuit of how to honor, show gratitude, and give Him the praise and glory forever! Out of the above context came this endeavor – to share my journey as a child of God and a soldier in His army to promote the understanding of His promises, provide encouragement for the times we live in, and permanently stand in the power of God.
Thank you Lord!
